WHERE TO NEXT?

Dear Traveler,

It is 7:10am in Punta Mita, Mexico and I am finishing up writing this newsletter while listening to the waves crashing the shore, sitting on our balcony lit up by a full moon.

I have no complaints.

But I do have a question – why does a photo not capture the size of a full moon in a picture?

January 1 is fast approaching!

And with that comes the opportunity to reflect on 2023 and plan ahead for 2024. Over the next week while I am in Mexico I will be doing both reflecting and planning – personally and for Truvay Travel. I have many ideas swirling around in my head and I look forward to crystalizing some of them into exciting changes in the year ahead.

What about you? What are you reflecting on? Planning for 2024?

In order to help you be a planner in 2024, next week look out for the simplest tip to help you get your vacation planned at the perfect time.

Yesterday Allison, Jessie and I landed in Punta Mita. We are so happy to be in the warmth and sunshine! The forecast shows 78 and sunny for the foreseeable future. Above is a picture from our balcony. Arriving to our room, with margaritas on the rocks ready to pour and looking out on that view was delightful! A few more photos below.

I do have one regret. We flew out on the 7:30a flight on December 26, which entailed a 2:30a wake up. That was rough! For next year’s December trip I want to remember to wait to leave until the 27th.

Over the next week we will be exploring in and around Punta Mita.

  • Adventuring – deep sea fishing, driving RZRs, sailing on a boat to a hidden beach inside of an island
  • Exploring – the smaller towns of Sayulita, Yelapa and maybe San Pacho
  • Eating – at the hotels’ restaurants and other highly recommended local spots. I want to be outdoors as much as possible – I cherish this time in the warmth to help get me through the cold, dark days of NH’s winter that I’ll be returning to
  • Scouting – I’ll be staying at or doing site visits at The Four Seasons, Naviva Tented Camp, Conrad Punta de Mita, Auberge’s new Susurro del Corazon, One & Only Mandarina and others

I look forward to sharing more with you in the weeks ahead. Follow Truvay Travel on instagram to see real time insights I share on where we go and what we do.

  • This week’s highlight – Da Gioia Beach Club in Capri
  • Inspiration + Information

DA GIOIA BEACH CLUB

Capri is a favorite destination for our clients visiting Italy. Whether it be a day trip or a few nights stay. Because it is such a coveted, popular destination we have already booked multiple clients’ trips for next summer.

When on Capri lunch followed by an afternoon at a beach club in a beautiful setting is one of the best ways to soak up the chic, laid-back summer Italian vibes.

There are many beach clubs to choose from, and today I am sharing one of our favorites.

Da Gioia

Da Gioia is part of Hotel La Palma.

“This is the place where fabulous people come and go, to watch sun-drenched days flow into glittering twilight evenings.”

Enjoy long, lazy lunches of fresh caught fish, lobster pasta, grilled octopus and calamari, one of my all time favorites prosciutto and fresh melon, finishing with a famous local favorite Delizia al limone.

Enjoy one of their signature cocktails named after Jackie O and Grace Kelly, who regularly visited Capri. Or a passion fruit daiquiri, blood orange mezcal margarita or refreshing sangria.

Soak up the afternoon sun reading your summer book. Take a nap.

You are in Capri and there’s nothing else you need to think about.
