SOUTH AFRICA is the perfect fit for you!
History, delicious cuisine and a thirst for adventure drive your wanderlust. You’ll experience immense opportunities to see wildlife in the southern African countries of Botswana and South Africa. These two countries can be visited together or on their own.
Botswana
Botswana has the unique benefit of offering both land and water based safaris.
Enjoy seeing hippos, crocs and other wildlife up close from a boat on the Okavango Delta, enjoy a peaceful mokoro (dugout) trip through the channels of the Delta or cast in a line for some catch and release fishing.
Here you will find some of the most luxurious lodges found in Africa set in remote locations away from the crowds giving you a true sense of exclusivity and remoteness.
South Africa
In South Africa visit the world famous Kruger National Park, where you might encounter a rare white lion, watch a leopard scale a tree with its most recent kill and dine in a dry riverbed under the stars.
If you’re someone who likes hands on experiences, consider partaking in wildlife conservation by assisting the veterinary team in rhino notching or a rhino de-horning. This is a very special experience that must be taken into consideration when planning your itinerary.
There are also various community based projects outside of the private reserves where you can learn of local village life and truly make a difference in the lives of these people and a local friendly soccer game can be arranged with the right planning.
As you are planning to be in southern Africa, the greater Cape Town area is often an easy add on and highly recommended.
Cape Town
After your safari, go beyond seeing the Big 5 and experience a few days in Cape Town – the cosmopolitan capital of South Africa. Start your day with a flat white from our favorite coffee shop, Truth, hike Table Mountain or Lions Head, hear stories over dinner from Nelson Mandela’s prison guard or enjoy Michelin star cuisine.
If you are a bit competitive and there with your teens or grown kids, do an Amazing Race style contest around Cape Town in motorcycle side cars!
The Winelands
World class cuisine, wine and accommodation can be found on a day or overnight trip to the Winelands. If you want to impress someone, do a wine tasting tour by helicopter around Franschhoek and Stellenbosch. Or visit one of our favorite picnic spots in Babylonstoren.

Did you know that the best safari lodges fill up over a year in advance during high season?
With some advanced planning, I’ll help you figure out the ideal lodge in the ideal place for you, and book it for you before it’s sold out.
Hi! I’m Mimi.
I’ve planned trips for active luxury travelers all over the world and I have a deep love for Africa.
I find joy in sending travelers like you to experience the beauty, the wildlife, the culture and the people of these incredible countries.
I know:
- the most coveted lodges for different kinds of travelers (families with teens/20-somethings, families with small children, couples, honeymooners, groups of friends)
- when you need to begin planning your trip to secure the ideal lodges for you
- how the time of year you travel impacts your wildlife experience
- how to structure your trip to minimize logistics and maximize time on safari
- when it makes sense to take a commercial flight and when a private charter is the best option
- which add-on destinations are perfect for your interests
A trip to Africa is not just about the trip – which of course is incredible!
It is about the people you meet, the awe-inspiring wildlife encounters and the moments you share with friends and family.
These are memories that will last a lifetime.
I leverage my personal experience, my professional knowledge and my trusted, on-the-ground partners to plan you the most perfect safari for you.
You don’t have to spend hours of time researching, or copying a friend’s itinerary that likely is different than what yours should be or stressing about anything before or during your trip.
I’ve got your back.
You will be met as you get off the plane, whisked through VIP immigration, have local guides who are great storytellers and be attended to throughout by my trusted partners.
But make no mistake, years ago I was exactly where you are today — I had a strong desire to go on safari, but I was overwhelmed with information, paralyzed with options and stuck in inaction.
