ZAMBIA or ZIMBABWE is the perfect fit for you!

You are driven by adventure and are open to new experiences. You don’t shy away from the unknown and love to travel to off the beaten path places with fewer people. Zimbabwe or Zambia is the country for you.

There is incredible variety in Zambia and Zimbabwe, from Victoria Falls to walking safaris from lodge to lodge. The sundowners from a boat cruise on the Zambezi river have views of spectacular sunsets with the added bonus of game viewing directly from the boat.

Zambia

Zambia, overall a bit more rustic and sparsely populated destination, is a great option for active travelers because it has the unique offering of being able to walk from lodge to lodge (with proper planning).

You can take your shoes and socks off and walk in the shallows of the Luangwa River in the dry season as you walk through a game rich area to your next lodge and then visit the Mighty Zambezi River for a water based safari and fishing for tiger fish. The sunsets in Zambia will take your breath away.

Not every African safari country offers hot air balloning, but Zambia is one of them. Take a flight over the Busanga Plains to observe herds of antelope and buffalo, playful hippo pods, elephants and lion prides.

Zimbabwe

Stay at one of the luxury lodges that dot the Zambezi River. Crocs and hippos infest these waters and local elephants and other game are often seen drinking from the riverbanks. You can head out on a boat, or if very adventurous and in the right location, a canoe.

Hwange National Park is the place to go for elephants, as there are 20,000+ elephants in the park.

Zimbabwe affords a few other unique opportunities. Go rhino trekking by foot (with an experienced guide of course) or hop on the Elephant Express and enjoy a G&T as you meander by kudu, lion, wildebeest and of course elephants from the comfort of your open air train.

Victoria Falls

If your safari takes to you Zambia or Zimbabwe, Victoria Falls is an easy add on. Regardless of which country you safari in, we recommend the Zimbabwe side for your Victoria Falls visit as it has a much longer waterfall frontage.

Victoria Falls is considered the adventure capital of Africa. What’s on offer? White water rafting, kayaking, bungee jumping and helicoptering over the Falls.

For the very adventurous consider bungee jumping, take to the air in a Microlight flight or hop on a gorge swing – free falling 200+ feet before swinging in a 300+ feet pendulum. It is one of the most thrilling experiences of your life. And of course you don’t have to do these things, but your teens or adult children might want to!

Zimbabwe has some of the most talented artists on the continent and for the less adventurous enjoy a stroll through the markets looking for those perfect gifts and souvenirs.

Your adventurous spirit will love the traditional and unique safari experiences Zambia and Zimbabwe offer.

Did you know that the best safari lodges fill up over a year in advance during high season?
With some advanced planning, I’ll help you figure out the ideal lodge in the ideal place for you, and book it for you before it’s sold out.

Hi! I’m Mimi.
I’ve planned trips for active luxury travelers all over the world and I have a deep love for Africa.
I find joy in sending travelers like you to experience the beauty, the wildlife, the culture and the people of these incredible countries.
I know:

  • the most coveted lodges for different kinds of travelers (families with teens/20-somethings, families with small children, couples, honeymooners, groups of friends)
  • when you need to begin planning your trip to secure the ideal lodges for you
  • how the time of year you travel impacts your wildlife experience
  • how to structure your trip to minimize logistics and maximize time on safari
  • when it makes sense to take a commercial flight and when a private charter is the best option
  • which add-on destinations are perfect for your interests

A trip to Africa is not just about the trip – which of course is incredible!
It is about the people you meet, the awe-inspiring wildlife encounters and the moments you share with friends and family.

These are memories that will last a lifetime.

I leverage my personal experience, my professional knowledge and my trusted, on-the-ground partners to plan you the most perfect safari for you.
You don’t have to spend hours of time researching, or copying a friend’s itinerary that likely is different than what yours should be or stressing about anything before or during your trip.

I’ve got your back.

You will be met as you get off the plane, whisked through VIP immigration, have local guides who are great storytellers and be attended to throughout by my trusted partners.
But make no mistake, years ago I was exactly where you are today — I had a strong desire to go on safari, but I was overwhelmed with information, paralyzed with options and stuck in inaction.
