WHERE TO NEXT?
Dear Traveler,
This week I’ve been immersed in planning trips to the Cotswolds, Greece, Sicily, Rome, Croatia, Hawaii, Tuscany, Morocco, Kenya and Rwanda. And although I’ve planned many trips to all of these destinations before, every traveler is different and so I learn new things with each trip. This is one of my favorite aspects of being a travel advisor.
For example, one family with four adult kids in their 20s are going to Mykonos during their summer vacation to Greece. During their European adventures, they love spending the day at the most exclusive beach clubs.
In order to advise them on the best option in Mykonos, I’ve spoken with my partner in Greece, the concierge at their hotel and the top three clubs on the island. They are all great options but each a bit different. Figuring out which is the best fit for my clients is a fun research project. There is no universal answer – it’s about the perfect fit for this unique family.
And for the trip to the Cotswolds – it’s in April, so a bit last minute. They love quiet, understated luxury. I’ve found three charming (and available) hotel options for them to choose from.
They also love antique shopping, eating delicious, beautiful food in unpretentious local restaurants and meandering through the charming towns of the Cotswolds (sounds heavenly!). In today’s Highlight below I’ll share one of the local pubs I’ll be proposing for them.
Last week’s most popular article was 25 Under-the-Radar Ideas for Luxurious Holidays in 2025.
This week’s inspirational articles include hotels in London for every mood, booking an entire town for a big splurge and 8 of the most breathtaking landscapes in the world.
Also articles on food scenes, Thailand, Brooklyn and the Philippines.
The informational articles include the impact on you of staff reductions in US National Parks, the new travel rules to the UK and my favorite – if you are traveling abroad and paying with US dollars, your trip is on sale! The USD is strong and that is a perfect reason to plan an international trip!
Next week I’m traveling state-side. I’m heading out to visit my parents and my kids at college for my daughter’s sorority mom’s weekend.
Where to next for you?
Warmly,

THE VILLAGE PUB
When you think of The Cotswolds, what images and words do you conjure up in your mind?
Charming, cozy, picturesque, rolling hills, pubs?
That’s what I think of.
The Cotswolds are a picture perfect destination for an English countryside getaway. There’s so much to do including eating out at delicious restaurants.
The Cotswolds are full of options – cute cafes, English country pubs, Michelin starred restaurants and even wood fired pizza places. Currently there are 33 options on my list of recommendations for these clients!
With so many choices, how can they possibly decide? Lucky for them even if they eat breakfast at their hotel, there are lunches and dinners for five days in a row, plus perhaps a stop at an afternoon coffeeshop or bakery, so they will get to 12+ places (more if every afternoon has a pub stop).
Today I narrowed it down to three proper English pubs and finally made a selection that is now on my personal list…
The Village Pub, a charming English pub in the town of Barnsley. Actually the only free standing pub in Barnsley. In the early 18th century three cottages were converted into an inn. Over the next 200 years the inn has changed hands and swapped its name to a pub. The decor is what you envision for an English pub – oak-beamed ceilings, dimly lit corners and a roaring fireplace.
Make a reservation for dinner, stop by for an impromptu pint at the bar or if you are there in the summer, order food to enjoy in their outdoor beer garden. As with typical pubs it’s a “come as you are” dress code.
The Sunday lunch menu offers a traditional English roast beef and happily bangers and mash, sticky toffee pudding and Guinness on are the menu every day.
When you get yourself to The Cotswolds, put the Village Pub on your list.

Four Seasons Rabat at Kasr al Bahr recently opened in the capital of Morocco.  Rabat is home to a mix of modern buildings and historic sites such as the Hassan Tower and the Kasbah of the Udayas, blending both the old and new aspects of Moroccan life. Rabat was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2012.
Why visit Four Seasons Rabat at Kasr al Bahr?
- It’s located in a former royal palace both in the heart of the city and on the Atlantic Ocean. Rooms and suites are in modern and historic buildings, many with balconies and views of the ocean.
- The hotel’s spa is a luxurious sanctuary including a traditional Moroccan hammam.
- Relax and unwind by the two pools – a resort-style outdoor pool and an infinity pool overlooking the ocean. For added tranquility, there’s also an indoor pool, perfect for a refreshing dip before or after your spa experience.
- The dining options at Four Seasons Rabat offer a variety of culinary experiences:
- Verdello – The signature restaurant inspired by the Mediterranean coast, offering bold, flavorful interpretations of regional dishes.
- Brasserie Marie – A tribute to Morocco’s French heritage, capturing the charm of a classic Parisian brasserie.
